10-08-17 A statement, the Co-op is now open:

We disagreed with the sentiment of this statement from Northampton Borough Council’s press office dated 12/10/16 (click here). By allowing another convenience store it is highly likely that another building will become empty as our community can not sustain two convenience stores.
A planning application was submitted to Northampton Borough Council to convert the Barn Owl Public House into a Convenience Store. The planning application number is N/2015/1314.
To see the paperwork go to the Northampton Borough Council website
- select Search for a planning application

The applicant is Hawthorn Leisure who brought the Barn Owl from Green King in June 2014. They have an agreement with the Co-op to convert the site into a store.
Rectory Farm Residents Association has objected to this planning application.
